Armani Junior into India

Giorgio Armani Group's childrens label Armani Junior is set to make its first foray in India in March.

The first store will open at luxury mall DLF Emporio.

Armani Junior will be operated by Indian apparel company Unique Eye Luxury Apparel, co-owned by Indian fashion designer Suneet Varma.

"I have bagged the Indian franchisee for Armani Junior. I wanted to do something in luxury but I was sure it had nothing to do with shoes and bags. Then I zeroed in for children's wear, as it is a niche segment and there is tremendous scope in this area," said Varma.

The first Armani Junior store at DLF Emporio will be spread across 2000sqft and will carry a full range of clothing for children aged from newborn to teens and including knitwear, skirts, denim, shoes, jackets, trousers, accessories, feeding bottles for babies and bibs.

Armani Junior is the second international agency secured by Suneet Varma following American luxury brand Judith Leiber which is known for handbags.
