Walmart shutters Hangzhou store

American retailer Walmart is closing another store in China – this time in Hangzhou.

It is Walmart’s seventh closure in China since March.

Walmart has around 400 stores in China since entering the market in mid 1990s. Last year, Walmart China CEO Greg Foran said the company will open 110 new stores across China over the next three years.

But it will also close nine per cent of its existing stores to achieve quality growth.
