7-Eleven Japan adds 500 stores

Seven & I Holdings and West Japan Railway Company have partnered to convert 500 convenience stores and newsstands into 7-Eleven stores.

The two companies have agreed to rebrand the 300 Kiosk and 200 Heart-in stores in Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture into 7-Eleven Kiosk and 7-Eleven Heart-in stores commencing in June to be completed in five years.

7-Eleven has also previously replaced more than 60 stores operated by another railway company Keikyu.

Its rival FamilyMart has also partnered with railway companies Kintetsu and Kyushu to open stores at train stations in Western Japan.
