Uniqlo opens first airport store

Japanese apparel retailer Uniqlo is to open its 16th Singapore store at Changi Airport Terminal 1.

The 3900 sqft store to open on February 25 will be its world’s first within the airside lounge of an airport.

“As a global brand that enjoys an international clientele from all walks of life, the opening of Uniqlo in one of the world’s busiest airports – Changi Airport – represents an important milestone for our brand,” said Uniqlo Singapore MD Satoshi Onoguchi.

“We are confident that our extensive collection is suitable for travel to various climates across the globe.”

“We look forward to building a strong partnership, and at the same time, bringing an even more innovative retail experience to our passengers here at Changi,” said Changi Airport Group senior VP for airside concessions Ivy Wong.
