Prada opens Japan store

Prada has opened its second store in Kobe City, Japan.

The 1000 sqm boutique has a front clad with black Marquina marble on which the windows alternate with a lightbox around an imposing central entrance. The façade is embellished with a facing of plate glass and a slender metal structure with luminous slits running its full height.

The space on two levels is connected by a black marble staircase and presents the collections of ready-to-wear, accessories, leather goods and footwear for men and women.

All of the spaces are already visible from the ground floor through large polygonal-shaped openings in the ceiling that create a visual connection between the two levels. A full-height display case, devoted to leather goods, leads the customer’s gaze to the upper floor.

The store’s walls are lined with green fabric which distinguish the space dedicated to womenswear. The furnishings are completed with plexiglass panels, transparent skylights, plexiglass and steel geometric tables and green velvet ‘Clover Leaf’ sofas, designed by Verner Panton and reproduced exclusively for Prada.

The men’s area is characterised by walls covered with ebony and display cabinets made of steel and black marble. The bright colors of saffiano leather – red, green and blue – define the display counters and the ostrich-skin sofas.
